Vegan roasted veg with lemon tahini sauce

This vegan roasted veg with lemon tahini sauce is simply delicious. It is vegan, unprocessed and a great source of antioxidants. The combination of these veggies give you an abundance of vitamin C, K, B6, fibre, omega-3, protein and magnesium.The broccoli is also an alkalising food which is great for conditions such as auto immune conditions, RA, CFS, ME and even cancer prevention. The garlic is anti viral and antibacterial..great for boosting the immune system at this time of year…..and on top of all this goodness it tastes heavenly!

INGREDIENTS
1 cauliflower, cut into florets
2 tablespoons tahini
1 1/2 tablespoons coconut oil tsp. olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 cloves garlic
pinch of himalayan salt and ground black pepper (adjust to your taste)

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 230c . Melt the 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and toss the cauliflower and broccoli in the oil, add the salt and pepper to season then pop in the oven for about 10 – 15 mins depending on how much “bite ” you want on your cauli / broccoli.

Heat the other 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil in a pan and then add in the garlic (minced) to cook for a couple of mins before slowly adding the tahini , lemon and a little water to allow the sauce to adjust to the desired consistency. Simmer for a couple of mins before removing and stir well before drizzling over the cauliflower and broccoli.

Serve + enjoy = That’s it!
ps – you can add some fresh herbs like parsley or coriander to garnish or add some toasted pine nuts or sesame seeds. Be adventurous and try a few options to suit you. I garnished mine here with parsley and chilli.

Oxygenising the Body to Prevent Cancers and Other Diseases.

Hi All,

My last blog was all about natural cures to help prevent cancer so within this blog i would like to go into the benefits of oxygenising the body to prevent cancers and other diseases in more detail.

Why do we need an alkaline diet and why is it key to preventing cancer and other dis-eases ?
When the bodies PH is too acidic then this has a knock on effect on de-oxegenising the cells.

Why is this important ?
Oxygen is vital to cells as it allows the platelets to be correctly shaped, nice and plump and round. When the cells are not carrying enough oxygen then they change shape, distort and clump together which then becomes a mass which we call a tumour.
If Oxygen cannot be carried to cells efficiently then this will also cause lowered immunity, which not only leads to diseases but also auto degenerative immune condition.

What can we do to increase oxygen to the cells within our bodies ?
~ Modify food choices – Green foods such as kale, spinach, broccoli, asparagus etc are extremely alkalining to the body, along with lemons, limes, grapefruits, nuts and seeds.

~Turmeric has been shown in studies to be tremendously powerful as a preventative health measure for lots of auto immune conditions and studies have even shown tumours regressing when turmeric has been used in turmeric with active curcumin. You can google online for more information on this, however i know that Equus Health sell Pure Ground Turmeric Root with 2.5% – 4% Curcumin Content.

~ Acid forming foods include all sugar that are not from fruits, alcohol loaded with sulphites, processed foods, cakes, biscuits, anything stuffed full of preservatives, smoked meats, red meat and dairy.
You can google a more comprehensive list online to help you make better choices. Try to make your food choices 70% alkaline and these changes over time will help your body become more alkaline and therefore oxygenised which will prevent all kinds of illnesses.

~ Drink lots of filtered mineral water. Water actually oxygenises the body so if you are not drinking at least 2 litres of pure water (not tea, squashes etc …PURE WATER ) then your cells will be de-oxygenised. I cannot stress enough the value to health on drinking pure clean water . If you can afford it then the best water is reverse osmosis water, however it can be costly. You can buy alkaline water filters reasonably cheaply online (Bioecera do a good one).

~Reducing stress within your life. Stress is a major factor in de-oxygenising the body as when the adrenals are responding to stress it takes a massive amount of energy from cells to deal with it. Also, when we are stressed we shallow breathe above the diaphragm line which means we are not filling our lungs with oxygen to transport to the cells for energy.

~Liquid Chlorophyll is very good to include into your daily water or smoothies (We can supply you with this).

~Wheatgrass, barley grass or powdered Greens are also extremely beneficial in alkalising and therefor oxygenising the body (We can supply you with this).

~Meditation or Yoga will help you de-stress and learn to breath from below the diaphragm.

Did you know that everyone actually has cancer cells in their body?

Cancer is caused when cells stick together as an irregular mass and form a tumour.
So what causes one person to get cancer over another ?

– parasites and microbes getting into the body (example from uncooked meat)
-too much acid in the body (example from a highly acidic diet or a diet lacking in alkaline foods)
– weak immune system which cannot fight off the microbes efficiently.
-lack of oxygen to the cells.
– DNA damage ( with the BRCA Gene) , preventing ATP production.
– helicobacter pylori ( preventing ATP production within cells ). We all have helicobacter pylori within our gut, however if our diet is acidic it pushes itself into the cell to avoid the acid.

So what can prevent and also reverse the cancer cycle within the body ?

-turmeric ( with active curcumin) , has been shown to reduce tumours. It is naturally alkalising, very high in antioxidant properties and has been shown to successfully kill heli. Pylori.
– vitamin c in extremely high doses. Vitamin c is drip fed
to cancer patients in hospitals. The start of healthy cell life.
– parasite identification , ie through seeing a kinesiologist.
– oxygenising the body with lots and lots ( over 3 litres of ideally reverse osmosis water, filtered and alkaline mineral water )
– an alkaline diet will oxegenise the body too . Remove processed foods, sugars and any foods with a high toxic load ( ie Mercury rich foods or non organic ) . Introduce liquid chlorophyll as well as lemons, limes, greens, grapefruit , almonds etc. you can research alkaline foods or check out my last blogs under nutrition.
– removing stress as stress reduces oxegen within the body . Consider Meditation.

Many studies are looking into the effectiveness of chemotherapy as some basc truths about cancer are being rewritten and there are many more comprehensive studies out there showing the effectiveness of some other healing modalities.
I encourage you to question and research a broad range of options to allow your body to be healthy and prevent cancer , however If you have been diagnosed then it is empowering to be aware of just how many powerful these preventative and reversal techniques can be for you to choose too.

Cancer Prevention through increasing oxygen in the body

Oxygen plays a vital role not only for obviously breathing but for cell health. The cells in our body need plenty of oxygen for healthy growth. If they are deprived then they will grow deformed, mutate or die.

Did you know that in 1931 Dr. Otto Warburg (Nobel prize winner) , discovered  that the primary cause of cancer is directly related to cells which have been deprived of oxygen and in fact these cells really thrive and rejuvenate faster in an environment lacking in oxygen .

Other studies support this and it has also been discovered that a more alkaline pH in the body allows the body to increase its oxygen levels and therefore reduces not only the likelihood of cancer but also other illnesses. It is cited that illness cannot live in an alkaline body.

How can we increase the oxygen levels within our body to prevent ill health ?

 

1. Drink pure filtered water (alkaline filtered if possible) – Drinking enough water daily is key for flushing toxins out of the body and for maximising utilisation of oxygen in the body .

2.  Alkaline diet – Increase intake of leafy greens and of plant-based foods and reduce the amount of processed foods (which are acidifying).  Lemons and limes are very alkaline. You can read online for lists of acid and alkaline food sources.

3. Learn to breathe – Most people shallow breath, which is enhanced further by stress. In fact when you breathe using only  the upper chest and inhale more air, it causes reduced oxygen levels in body cells. Deeper diaphragmatic breathing , slower breathing will help. Meditation, Yoga, Qi Gong, Tai chi and Swimming will all help.

4. Gentle Exercise –  such as walking, Biking, Rebounding,  Hiking or slow jogging will help your body utilize oxygen and remove waste through the lymphatic system.

Turmeric the spice to prevent cancers.

Research Shows Turmeric Spice is a natural way to prevent both benign and cancerous tumours.

Studies highlights the anti-cancer properties of turmeric (in many cases due to it’s active compound curcumin) can reduce tumor size by a whopping 81%!!!
Taken in food it is extremely safe and thought to be best enhanced when combined with black pepper and olive oil so i know how my curry will be rolling!!!!

Reports vary on the amount of turmeric to use (400mg ?) so if you go with a good heaped spoon or 2 of good quality dried in your soups and curries then this wonderful spice has an array of other benefits too such as :-

Anti cancer foods.

One of the best ways to cut your risk of developing cancer is by changing your diet.
Try to eat a minimum of 5 veggies a day and then some fruit on top of that. 

Curcumin / Turmeric
Turmeric, which is the main source of curry powder, contains curcumin – an active compound that is considered by many experts as a potential cancer fighter. Studies have shown this can be effective in reducing tumours .

Tomatoes
Linked to a reduction in the risk of several types of cancer, such as prostate cancer. Best small or squashed (including tomato sauce and tinned) lycopene will nourish your body and keep those disease-causing toxins away.

Mushrooms
Contain lectin that attacks cancerous cells and prevents them from multiplying. Add them to the BBQ.

Sweet Potatoes
Contain many essential compounds, including beta-carotene that has anti-cancer properties

Carrots
Also contains  beta carotene which is known for its anti-cancer properties.

Cruciferous Vegetables
Kale, Cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels  etc all  contain essential compounds that defend the body from free radicals that cause colon, breast, lung, and cervix cancer.

Green Tea
A large body of scientific studies suggests that tea may have a potential in beating cancers. Other types of tea, including black tea, are also rich in  antioxidant  compounds.

Grapes (this includes red wine….in moderation!)
Contain resveratrol which has strong antioxidant  properties to prevent cellular damage that triggers cancer.

Avocado
Contains antioxidant properties which attacks free radicals in the body by blocking the intestinal absorption of body fats.

Grapefruit / Orange and Lemons
In particular  these fruits can help fight cancer by removing carcinogens out and vitamin c encourages healthy cellular growth plus studies report that  compound in grapefruits may also prevent breast cancer cells from multiplying.

Garlic

Not only great for the heart and circulation it also contains immune-enhancing allium compounds that fight cancer-causing substances.
Mineral Water
Water is another detoxifying agent, washing away the toxins and unnecessary compounds out of your system. Drinking water more often also cuts your risk of bladder cancer whilst protecting the liver and kidneys.
