Fertility Reflexology – Improve your chances of having a baby.

Fertility Reflexology can be extremely beneficial to aid fertility.  In fact here at Peace Of Mind Health our success rates are far higher than the government statistics for IVF which quote just 32% for for under 35yr olds. Our success rate is double that for last year.
A fertility specialist and Clinical Reflexologist will be able to work the reflex points of the endocrine system in a very specific order to send the signals to the brain which will then send communication signals to the hormonal system for positively re-balancing the organs and systems within the body.
The process also aligns the meridians (energy pathways), by either adding more “chi” or reducing excess “chi” to the relevant meridians (energy pathways) thus allowing the flow of energy to go exactly where it is needed.

There are many points on the feet that correspond with the reproductive system in the body, and by working these in a very specific order the imbalances which lead to infertility can then be corrected therefore significantly increasing your chances of having a baby.

I work with clients to help balance a number of issues which can prevent fertility. Here are some of the issues we can help you with :
~Hormonal Imbalances.
~PMS.
~Inconsistent cycle.
~Lazy Ovaries.
~PCOS.
~Endometriosis.
~Cervical Issues.
~Stress.
~Fear / Anxiety blocks.

Stress , fear and anxiety blocks although these are emotionally based issues they can have a huge impact on fertility and i work with clients to help the emotional blocks which can negatively affect your ability to conceive.

If you are already looking at IVF, ICSI or another method of assisted conception then Clincal Reflexology will also support you and add more benefit to this process too by allowing your body to be as bananced as possible , and also supporting you with emotional support allowing your body and mind to be wonderfully balanced for a positive outcome.

If you are undergoing tests to find out the cause of infertility, need to undertake a course of fertility drugs, or are embarking on assisted conception such as IVF, ICSI, GIFT, or ZIFT, reflexology can actually be of great help to you. This is because it is a supporting or complementary therapy, and as such, will not harm the treatments you are undergoing or take the place of them. The reflexology can support your body physically, but just as importantly, it will give you needed mental support, giving you the strength and positivity that you need in order to stave off anxiety and give the treatment the best possible chance of succeeding.

Here at Peace of Mind Health we are also trained in Emotional Coaching, Hypnotherapy and Nutrition so we can support our clients with all aspects of mind, body and energy for balance. .

10 Tips for good foot health

10 Tips for good foot health

Some common complaints to be aware of to ensure that your feet are in good health include : –

1. Heel Pain – commonly this can be caused by  plantar fasciitis, inflammation at the point  where the ligament attaches to the bone. The pain may be sharpest when you first wake up and put pressure on the foot. Other causes of heel pain include  poor fitting footwear, tendonitis, arthritis, heel or bone spurs.

2. Cold Feet – this may have more insights into your overall health than you initially think. Cold feet is often because of poor blood flow which is a circulatory problem which can be a result of  smoking, high or low blood pressure, or heart disease. Also this can be a clue to Diabetes as nerve damage of uncontrolled diabetes can also make your feet cold. Other possible causes include hypothyroidism and anemia.

3. Pain in the Big Toe – The most common cause of this is Gout which gives sudden pain in the big toe joint, along with redness and swelling. Osteoarthritis also causes pain and swelling and rigid joints.

4. Swollen Feet –  May be a number of factors here including poor circulation, impaired lymphatic system, or even a blood clot. A kidney disorder or poor kidney health or underactive thyroid can also cause swelling to the feet. physician.

5. Burning Feet – A burning sensation in the feet is common among diabetics with peripheral nerve damage. It can also be caused by a vitamin B deficiency, athlete’s foot, chronic kidney disease, poor circulation in the legs and feet (peripheral arterial disease), or hypothyroidism.

6. Itchy Feet – may be down to a fungal infection called  athlete’s foot or even a reaction to chemicals or even an auto immune condition such as psoriasis or eczema.

7. Sores That Don’t Heal – a major warning sign here for diabetes. Diabetes can impair sensation in the feet, circulation, and normal wound healing, so even a blister can become a troublesome wound. Those sores also are prone to infection. Diabetics should wash and dry their feet and check them for any wounds every day. Slow-healing of sores also can be caused by poor circulation from conditions such as peripheral artery disease.

9. White Nails – may be due to an injury, nail infection, or psoriasis however, If the nail is intact and most of it is white, it can sometimes be a sign of a more serious condition including liver disease, congestive heart failure, or even  diabetes.

10. Foot Spasms –  A sudden, sharp pain in the foot is the hallmark of a muscle spasm or cramp but can also be signs of sciatic issues. Poor circulation, dehydration, or imbalances in potassium, magnesium, calcium, or vitamin D may also be a contributing factor,

Treating Lymphoedema and Oedema naturally.

What is Lymphoedema ?
Lymphoedema is excess of lymph fluid building up as a result of a poorly functioning lymphatic system and is most commonly seen an arm or a leg.  If the lymphatic system is not functioning properly then immunity will also be affected as this system is all about immunity as it is responsible for cleaning away toxins, bacteria, proteins and maintaining correct fluid balance within the body.   You may notice at times, your lymph glands become more sensitive or swollen around the neck, under arms and in the groin region. If so this is a sure sign that your lymphatic system is under pressure.

Over time , if the lymphatic system is not working correctly,  fluid in the body builds up and swelling which looks like water retention occurs.

Lymphoedema can be primary or secondary.

Primary – usually  from birth and arises due to some failure of the lymphatic system itself – and  It may develop without any obvious cause at different stages in life, and can be heightened more so in teenage years as the body develops.
Secondary  –  is the result of a trauma, injury, reduced mobility, radiotherapy or surgery.  In particular lymph nodes are very often removed after many cancer treatment’s . Secondary Lymhoedema is common after breast cancer surgery and radiotherapy.

What can be done to help with Lymhoedema  ?

Elastic compression garments are commonly recommended along with manual lymphatic drainage to help the lymphatic system back to balance.

We have trained in RLD (Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage) , this is an award winning technique which is being used within the NHS as it has proven results for Lymphoedema. We are also excited that this technique is proving extremely successful with auto immune disorders too.

Detoxifying the body for long term health

We live in a world where we cannot avoid toxins and pollution. It is in the food we eat, the packaging of the food we buy, the water and the air around us. Often we get a build up of toxins within the physical body which can have an impact on immunity, how we struggle to release excess weight, hormonal issues, fatigue and just to maintain good overall health and prevention of illness.

If we are in good health our body can process and eliminate most of the toxins around us, but over time the body can become overloaded and may struggle to do this work efficiently for us.

Key organs and systems within the body for  detoxification include the gastrointestinal system, lymphatic system, kidneys, bladder, lungs and the skin.

Toxins can overload the detoxification organs and when we start to get  congestion in the lymphatic system , this is when we get thickened lymph which may cause pain and discomfort as sacks of fluid accumulates in the nodes without being emptied into the blood for removal from the body. This congestion can then lead to other blocks in the liver and then into the intestines which may cause  constipation along with liver dysfunction.

Unable to properly remove the toxins causes many health problems such as:
Poor digestion

Weight gain or unable to shift weight easily

Constipation

Bloating

Allergies or food sensitivities

Re-occuring tonsilits

Sinusitis

Low immunity

Skin problems (such as eczema, acne, hives, itching and rashes)

Diabetes

Headaches

Mineral deficiency (key for weigh loss)

Hormonal imbalances
In order to start to  address these issues it is important that the body is balanced through the the detoxification system as well as ALL other areas of the body . A balanced holistic approach with health and nutrition are key and balancing the systems through Clinical Reflexology or Kinesiology alongside a healthy nutritional support system to help you back into balance are vital for a long term healthy body.

How Clinical Reflexology can help you to have a baby……….

Many people ask me how clinical reflexology can help women who are trying for a baby.

Firstly Reflexology is a natural, non-invasive and balancing therapy which uses pressure points, nerve and energy pathways which communicate with corresponding organs and systems within the body. The hormonal system is balanced and it also de stresses and promotes harmony and wellbeing  which in itself can be hugely beneficial for getting the body in balance and ready for trying for a baby.

Scientific research into the field of complementary healthcare indicates that up to 50% of women who add complementary healthcare to their routine whilst preparing for having a baby  find themselves pregnant within six months. In my own practice i can certainly report on the effectiveness and success stories so far…what an absolute joy to be a part of such a wonderful time.

Whilst Reflexology and CAM brings the body into its best health we also recognise how emotional and stressful this journey can be for many  couples. We are also able to support you in addressing  the emotional aspect of how you are feeling about fertility issues.

Once you are pregnant Reflexology is also wonderful to keep you balanced throughout the pregnancy and baby loves the sessions too!  What a wonderful way for baby to grow and feel through his or her senses this experience of such a relaxing and calming introduction to life! If you want a chilled out baby this is for you!

Some of the common issues such as water retention , acid reflux, constipation , sleep , stress nausea etc can all be worked through at this time and when the time comes reflexology can bring also help to on the labour for them (however if it’s not time for the baby to budge then baby will not come!).
