Glowing Skin From Within

Spread the love

Hi All,

As the season is turning and summer is over, how do we keep that lovely glowing skin from summer ?
As the cold creeps in , so often does dry thirsty and flaky skin.
I thought i would write a blog to help you keep your glowing skin from within.

I am often asked about my skin and i feel the secret is to begin on the inside…with good food, good hydration and nutrition.

Skin is our largest organ and the key to dewy , youthful skin is NOT with expensive moisturisers (i use coconut oil on my skin, it doesn’t get any cheaper than this !1) however i drink 3 litres of mineral water each day. if you are not hydrated then it is going to show up on your skin. If you ever get dry skin anywhere on your body especially your feet and legs then you are dehydrated.
If you are not a fan of plain water then why not try adding organic fruit slices such as lemon, lime, orange or berry, or even herbs such as basil, mint, lemon balm or rosemary to add flavour. ALWAYS use mineral water at the very least as tap water is contaminated with oestrogen excess and flouride as well as many other harmful chemicals which will affect endocrine function.

The next key aspect is good nutrition, so ensure your diet is loaded with super-foods known to be have plentiful antioxidants! Antioxidants help our bodies to repair free radical damage. Here are some of my favourite :
~ Avocados – abundant in vitamin C,E, folates and good fat for heart health.
~ Cacao – The antioxidant power of flavonoids and essential minerals and vitamins found in cacao can support healthy heart functioning by lowering blood pressure, improving blood flow, lowering cholesterol, and reducing plaque buildup on artery walls.
~ All leafy green vegetables – Antioxidant, alkalising and oxygenises the body which is found to prevent cancers and inflammatory diseases.
~ Berries of all kinds – Another anti cancer , antioxidant source. Rich in vitamin C which is a powerhouse for cell rejuvination and amazing glowing skin.
~ Coconut oil – Medium Chain fatty acids which help you burn fat, amazing both internally and applied topically to give you youthful , wrinkle free skin and is good to the heart.
~Blue Green Algae / Liquid Chlorophyll / Wheatgrass – Abundant in antioxidants and alkalising properties.
~ Sprouted foods – this takes food to a whole new level. Sprouting seeds, beans and grains filled with enzymes and fibre which help the digestive tract to detoxify and are a great source of protein too.
~Chia Seeds – These tiny little seeds are jam packed full of nutrients and are one of the healthiest seeds on the planet. Protein , omega 3 , fibre and a rich source of magnesium.
~ Nut Butters – such as tahini , almond butter ( avoid peanut butters as peanuts are especially susceptible to a mold that produces a mycotoxin called aflatoxin).
~ Nuts and seeds (except peanuts)- rich in omega 3 , vitamin E , protein , good fats and many antioxidants they are best soaked in water before use to release nutritional inhibitors and toxic substances which can be eliminated by soaking. These inhibitors and toxic substances are enzyme inhibitors, phytates (phytic acid), polyphenols (tannins), and goitrogens. Cashews only need 2 hours , however nuts like almonds will require 6 hours.
