Today I’d love to share a poetic memoir birthed from the dance between earth, sky, fire, and water. It’s a remembrance of who we are when we return to the elements… when we meet Spirit at the edge of our own becoming.
May these words hold you, guide you, and awaken what already lives within.
Meet You at the Shore – A Shamanic Memoir of Becoming
There was a moment, quiet and golden, when I called to Father Sky:
“Cast your light, Father… show me the way.”
And in response, you leaned low, your rays kissing the surface of the sacred waters.
I watched as you danced — sky and water, flame and reflection — lovers in eternal play.
I saw you clearly then.
And in that seeing, I remembered myself.
I softened. Shifted. Dissolved.
Became the water — rippling gently,
No container, no need to hold or be held,
Only flow. Only presence. Only what is needed in this now.
And as the current of Spirit carried me,
I reached down,
Pressed my palms to the flesh of the Great Mother.
She received me.
Earth —Bones of ancient time beneath me,
Curves like songs sung by the mountains,
Holding me steady when I forget my name.
She cradled me with warmth and weight.
She whispered through soil and stone:
“Daughter, remember — your becoming is not bound by form.”
And then came the fire —
A pulse rising from Her molten womb.
Not destruction… but transmutation.
It burned through the limits I had worn like skin.
It opened the door beyond “good” and “not good,”
Beyond human and divine,
Where thought and being become one.
In that sacred space, I offered myself:
Mind to mystery,Heart to wholeness.
I shifted.Transformed.Was undone.
And in that undoing —Reborn.
Reborn in the breath between elements.
In the rhythm of waves kissing stone.
In the fire’s quiet hum beneath fertile ground.
I found myself again —Not as who I was,
But as who I’ve always been.
And there,I meet you at the shore —
Where light kisses water,And Spirit remembers its shape.
