Every Stitch Matters
A reflection on magic and miracles we overlook each day.
Do we see in life
each rare beauty
as it unfolds
with awe,
through the pure eyes
of a newborn child?
Or do we stand jaded,
shattered by time,
where mystery becomes
nothing more
than a discovered parlour trick?
All miracles made ordinary,
magic ridiculed,
spoken only
in hushed tones
by fools who
remain true.
While we search
for exotic treasures
in distant lands,
we grow blind
to life’s erotic bounty
unfolding before our eyes.
Each ripe and sacred moment
passes unnoticed,
fading slowly
into darkness,
blurring toward
insignificance—
until that which stood beside us
leaves only a void.
Only then
do we finally see
within the woven tapestry of life
that every stitch matters.
