Theta Healing Hinckley
ThetaHealing® at Peace of Mind Health, Hinckley
There is a particular category of belief that is almost impossible to shift through thinking alone. Not because you lack intelligence or self-awareness — but because these beliefs do not live primarily in the conscious mind. They live in the subconscious: in the deep layer of the brain that operates largely outside of awareness, that was formed long before the adult mind had the capacity to question it, and that continues to run automatically — shaping your emotional responses, your relationships, your physical health and your experience of what is possible — regardless of what you consciously decide or intend.
ThetaHealing® is a meditation technique and energy healing modality specifically designed to work with this layer. It accesses the brain state in which the subconscious mind is most open to genuine change — the theta brainwave state — and uses focused intention, intuitive inquiry and energetic connection to identify and shift the beliefs and patterns that are quietly running your life.
At Peace of Mind Health in Hinckley, ThetaHealing® is offered by Jeni as a deeply transformative and personally tailored experience — one that often produces shifts that feel both immediate and lasting.

The Theta Brainwave — Understanding the State
The brain produces electrical activity in measurable frequency bands, each associated with a different state of consciousness. In everyday waking life, the brain operates primarily in beta — the fast, analytical, alert state associated with thinking, problem-solving and active engagement with the world. This is the state in which the conscious mind is most dominant and most defended. It is also the state in which the subconscious is least accessible.
Theta brainwaves — oscillating at between 4 and 8 Hz — represent a profoundly different state. Theta is the frequency of deep meditation, the twilight zone between waking and sleep, the state experienced during REM dreaming, and — crucially — the dominant brainwave of children under thirteen years old. This last point is significant: it is during this theta-dominant developmental phase that the most foundational beliefs about ourselves, about safety, about love, about what we deserve and what is possible, are formed and laid down. They are not chosen consciously. They are absorbed — directly into the subconscious — during a period when the critical, evaluative mind has not yet developed to filter or question them.
A 2016 study published in Cerebral Cortex found that theta waves enhance neuroplasticity — the brain’s capacity to form new neural pathways and rewire itself. This provides a neuroscientific basis for why the theta state is so powerful for belief change: in this state, the brain is literally more capable of forming the new connections that underpin lasting change. Research from the hippocampus — the brain’s memory and learning centre — confirms that theta activity facilitates the consolidation of new learning and the integration of new experience into existing neural architecture.
In simple terms: in the theta state, the subconscious becomes genuinely receptive. The defensive filter of the beta mind relaxes. New information, new feelings and new beliefs can reach the deeper layers of the mind — and take root there — in a way that is simply not available in ordinary waking consciousness.
Beliefs as Biology — Why This Matters for Health
The relationship between belief and physical health is not merely philosophical. It is biological. Research in the field of epigenetics — the study of how environmental signals, including thoughts and beliefs, influence gene expression — has demonstrated that the beliefs we hold and the emotional states they generate can measurably alter how our genes behave. The pioneering work of cell biologist Dr Bruce Lipton, and a growing body of peer-reviewed research building on it, shows that beliefs held at the subconscious level can influence immune function, inflammatory response, hormonal balance and cellular health.
This is the scientific underpinning of what ThetaHealing® practitioners have observed clinically for thirty years: that when deep subconscious beliefs shift, the body often responds. Physical symptoms linked to emotional holding ease. Energy returns. Sleep improves. Relationships change. The experience of being in the world becomes different — not because the external world has changed, but because the internal architecture through which it is perceived and responded to has shifted at a fundamental level.
What ThetaHealing® Addresses — the Four Levels of Belief
One of the most sophisticated aspects of ThetaHealing® as a modality is its understanding that beliefs operate at different levels of the system — and that lasting change requires working at the correct level rather than simply addressing surface symptoms.
Core beliefs are those held consciously or semi-consciously — the ones we are at least partially aware of, such as “I am not good enough” or “I do not deserve to be happy.” These can often be identified through conversation and intention.
Genetic beliefs are those held in the body’s cellular memory — patterns inherited through the family line, sometimes across generations, that predispose us to certain emotional responses, health patterns or relational dynamics. The emerging science of epigenetics supports the mechanism through which these inherited patterns operate.
History level beliefs are those carried from past experiences — including, within the framework of ThetaHealing®, past lives or ancestral experience that has left an energetic imprint on the current life.
Soul level beliefs are the deepest — held at the level of the soul’s journey and accumulated experience. These often relate to fundamental questions of worthiness, safety, love and belonging at the most foundational level of being.
During a ThetaHealing® session, Jeni works intuitively across all four levels — identifying where the root of a belief or pattern actually lives, and working with it there, rather than only at the surface where it presents.
What Happens in a ThetaHealing® Session

Sessions are warm, conversational and completely tailored to you. There is no script and no predetermined agenda — the session begins with what you bring, and goes where the work calls it.
After an initial conversation to understand what you are experiencing and what you would like to shift, Jeni enters the theta state — a focused, meditative state of connection — and begins an intuitive scan of your energy field and belief system. Using guided questioning and, where helpful, muscle testing — a form of energetic biofeedback that allows the subconscious to communicate directly — she identifies the beliefs, feelings and patterns that are most ready to be worked with.
With your awareness and permission, limiting beliefs are released and new, supportive ones are downloaded in their place — together with the feelings that accompany them. This last point matters: it is not enough simply to remove a belief. The nervous system needs to know what it feels like to hold the new one. Part of the work is installing the felt experience of safety, of worthiness, of love, of abundance, of possibility — so that the new belief is not just intellectual but embodied.
Muscle testing is then used to confirm that the shifts have been made and integrated at the relevant levels of the system.
Sessions are available in person at the practice in Hinckley, Leicestershire, or online via Zoom — with no reduction in depth or effectiveness. Distance is not a barrier to this work.

ThetaHealing® and Other Therapies
ThetaHealing® works particularly powerfully when combined with other approaches that address different layers of the healing journey. At Peace of Mind Health it sits naturally alongside Somatic Therapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Matrix Reimprinting and EFT, Transformational Life Coaching and Reiki Energy Healing — each bringing a different quality of access to the same intention: genuine, lasting change at the level where it actually lives.
Aftercare
ThetaHealing® sessions can produce significant shifts that continue to unfold in the hours and days that follow. You may notice:
- A sense of lightness, spaciousness or quiet that was not there before
- New thoughts, perspectives or feelings arising spontaneously
- Vivid dreams as the subconscious integrates the work
- Temporary fatigue as the system recalibrates
- Unexpected emotional release — tears, laughter, or a sense of something finally letting go
We recommend drinking plenty of water, resting where possible, and journalling any insights or shifts that arise. If anything feels intense or you have questions, please do reach out — support is always available between sessions.
