The Wild Turning
A reflection of the unpredictable wild nature of the elements.
A gentle kiss
upon the cheek,
a soft caress ,warm air
sweeping through my hair
as you softly touch me there.
Then suddenly,
you turn.
I thought I knew you.
Fierce now,
slamming your power
into all within your path.
Howling,
you chill my bones.
Whip like sounds
close in from every direction,
shaking my foundations
until nothing feels safe.
Unpredictable,
you swirl and rise,
your full power roaring.
Then…..
sudden stillness.
Until birds sing once more.
