The Sun Within
A reflection on the light of healing we can offer each other.
Even when it rains,
I close my eyes
and the sun still shines glorious within me.
And each time I return
to coldness,
to dark heavy skies,
I am always surprised
by how wet the world can feel.
Yet I have learned
to play within the contrast,
for it exists only to teach.
There is a place
we may all travel to,
if we choose.
A place of infinite possibility,
ripe with endless opportunity,
born from the greatest force of all…..
imagination.
Within a single moment of dreaming,
entire worlds are formed,
each one shaped by the unique light
of our own inner solar system.
Your star burns within you
just as mine burns within me.
It is fuelled by energy,
by a force that moves both outward and inward,
projecting itself into all things.
And when I remember this,
I become unshakeable. Unstoppable.
Aligned with a power vast enough
to illuminate us both.
So do not be afraid
when monsters appear upon the walls of your mind,
or when darkness follows you
through waking hours and restless dreams.
I will sit beside you there.
I will hold you,
until you remember safety again.
And slowly,
through the warmth of my sun,
your nightmares will soften,
And gently fade into peace.
